My name is Melissa Olvera, and I am the proud founder of The Art of Feminine and Nourish Holistic Beauty & Wellness. I am a Latina. I am a mother, a partner, a friend, a sister, a space holder, an experience creator, a forever student, a mover, a lover, a caregiver, and yes—a troublemaker. I stand up for injustice, and I speak up. My journey has been one of perseverance, transformation, and a deep desire to create spaces where women can feel truly seen, loved, and empowered.

I was born and raised in Mexico and have called Houston, Texas, home for over 20 years. My path hasn’t been easy, but every step has shaped the woman I am today. For years, I worked in the restaurant industry, often losing jobs because of my status. One particularly difficult job became a turning point—I realized that the only way to find work that truly fulfilled me was to create it myself.

That’s when I found inspiration in the simplest of things: mascara. My sensitivity to it sparked an idea, and I pursued training as a lash stylist. What began as Just Eyes Lash Studio quickly grew into a thriving business and evolved into Nourish Holistic Beauty & Wellness. This venture gave me the freedom I had been craving and allowed me to return to college—a step that felt like reclaiming a piece of myself.

Around that time, I discovered S Factor, a movement practice rooted in feminine embodiment. As someone who has loved dancing since I was little, it felt like coming home to a part of myself I didn’t even realize I had been missing. After four years of practice, I completed teacher training, and this work changed my life. It helped me heal my relationship with my body and with other women—a profound shift, especially since I grew up without a mother figure from the time I was 8 years old.

Inspired by the healing I experienced, I went on to complete yoga teacher training and dive deeply into trauma-informed somatic practices, including Somatic Experiencing®, TRE®, Compassionate Inquiry, conscious movement, and training with Open Floor International. These tools have been life-changing for me, and they form the heart of my work today.

Eight years ago, I founded The Art of Feminine as a sacred space for women to connect, heal, and grow together. My vision was to create a safe, nurturing community where women could explore movement, express themselves, and connect their minds and bodies with their authentic feelings and emotions for true healing.

My biggest inspiration has always been my children. They motivate me to be the best version of myself and to create the kind of relationship with them that I never had growing up. I also find endless joy and peace in nature—the ocean soothes my soul, the woods recharge my spirit, and I love walking barefoot, immersed in the tranquility of greenery and the presence of animals. I treasure deep conversations, meaningful movies, musicals, and of course, dancing.

Through everything I’ve learned and experienced, my greatest intention is to facilitate, hold space, and support women on their own journeys—to guide them toward healing, freedom, and self-love. Whether you’re here to explore movement, connect with your body, or simply be in a supportive, welcoming community, I am so glad you’ve found The Art of Feminine.

With love,
